This field first became an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric\u00a0telegraph, the\u00a0telephone, and\u00a0electric power\u00a0distribution and use. Subsequently,broadcasting\u00a0and\u00a0recording media\u00a0made electronics part of daily life. The invention of the\u00a0transistor\u00a0and, subsequently, the\u00a0integrated circuit\u00a0brought down the cost of electronics to the point where they can be used in almost any household object.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">Electrical engineering has now subdivided into a wide range of sub-fields including\u00a0electronics,\u00a0digital computers,\u00a0power engineering,\u00a0telecommunications,\u00a0control systems,\u00a0RF engineering,\u00a0signal processing,\u00a0instrumentation, and\u00a0microelectronics.
