Urban Management

Urban management is the process of maintaining the balance between immediate community concerns with regard to service delivery – and those of the particular city or town (and anticipated long-term institutional changes). It also includes processes that strive to form or strengthen partnerships between the municipality and communities when it comes to the operations and maintenance of services and infrastructure.

Bageso’s experience in developing urban management plans indicates that such plans can be applied in many different contexts – from central business districts (CBDs) to informal settlements – and that they also serve as important tools in revitalisation strategies.  Bageso applies urban management plans in all spatial planning projects it undertakes, thereby ensuring that issues such as maintenance, health and safety are addressed and that a positive investment environment is created.
